Did you know that the average US household has over $8,000 in credit card debt? People live from paycheck to paycheck, we don't spend enough time with our children. 40% of us are unsure of what retirement will bring for us. 50% of bankruptcies are brought about by illness bad debt.

Does any of the above ring true to you? Is that why you started your network business with Usana? I don't think it was the reason that I started with Usana but I was aware that the wellness industry was gaining momentum, not to mention the fact that I am a boomer (did you know we made up one third of the population) and I wanted to make sure I was giving myself a reasonable show of enjoying my latter years. After doing some further research I found it was going to be a trillion dollar industry.

So I went in search of a company that would fulfill my requirements. What was I after? Something that was well established, something with absolutely no hype attached to it, a company experienced in the wellness field, you know the drill I think. Anyway I found a company called Usana, it was founded in 1992 by Dr Myron Wentz. Another thing that impressed me about the company was the fact that they produced all of their own product. There was no outsourcing. So what did that tell me? It showed me that they took responsibility for what they produced. There are a lot of MLM companies who out source and if and when there is a customer complaint they distance themselves from it.

Here is a pertinent point to my story, in 2001 the active customer base had grown from 97,000 to 254,000 in 2007.

So I joined and had an active upline, I took three business positions, it was full ahead steam for me. Or so I thought!

I came to a screeching realization that I needed some leads, that was after I had exhausted my so called warm market. Lots of people thought the products were good and they actually said so but did not want to spend money for something they could get at the drugstore for a lesser price. I will not go into the quality argument here. So I needed customers and/or distributors. The way Usana is structured makes it very hard to build a residual income on customers only. So I needed some leads. So did my upline, so we formed a cooperative, contributed financially and we were going to be OK.

The leads we produced were targeted leads, they filled out lead capture pages for a home business, there was no smoke or mirrors. All through Google Adwords.

Guess what, over a period five or six monthly campaigns, making phoe calls religiously and doinng all of the right things, I had not progressed.

Everything as far as the research was concerned was spot on, projected growth etc.

Then it pinged!

That growth from 2001 to 2007 was in active customers, some of that obviously consisted of distributors, however I thought it was worth investigating and went looking for a business based on Customers.

Guess what!

I found one. I do not buy Usana Leads any longer, I buy customers instead. That sounds like its good business to me! So I do not buy any Usana Leads any more I buy customers instead. Go here to fid out more. ItsGoodBusiness.net

Cash gifting programs that are grounded in no product or service but require recruiting many people in order for the financial rewards to be realized CANNOT SUCCEED FOR ALL THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS. The numbers becme geometric, and the people getting in at the bottom are sure losers.

What is Cash Gifting?

Giving private gifts to one another is an expression of kindness, which has been going on for centuries. Governments have allowed its practice for individuals to share their wealth with families, friends and others.

The concept of private gifting is based upon the fact that American citizens have the Constitutional right to gift property, cash and other assets, and are subject to the rules and regulations established by the laws. The U.S. gifting rules are found in the IRS Tax Code, Title 26, Sections 2501-2504 and 2511.

The law states that one or more individuals can give a gift to another individual of up to $11,000 each per calendar year without any tax liability to either the giver or receiver of the gift, because the tax on the gift has already been paid. These gifts are not included in the gross income of the recipient.

What is wrong with Cash Gifting?

Many Cash Gifting programs claim they are helping other people. Some hide behind the guise of "paying it forward". Cash Gifting programs operate on the fringe of the IRS gifting laws and in some cases are illegal or may have additional tax complications.

Believe it or not many Cash Gifting participants are struggling themselves and are only trying to recruit you into the Cash Gifting business where your money will be gone forever.

The steep initial investment and high payoff appeals to a mostly middle-class crowd, the kind of people who have access to three - five grand and are willing to hand it over to a stranger.

Cash Gifting programs might look like a clever gifting system that skirts the IRS, but in reality it's nothing more than a basic pyramid scam, similar to a chain letter. Pyramid scams have been around as long as there have been people who want to believe they can get something for nothing. They've been described as being like wildfires, flaring bright until they're stomped out, only to spark again in another location.

As much as its members want to think otherwise, these Cash Gifting programs aren't about people helping people; it's about people cheating people. It's an illegal scam that's bound to collapse on the very people it claims to be empowering.

The wall was created, and strengthened over time, as a defense against attack from various Native American tribes, New England colonists, and the British. In 1685 surveyors laid out Wall Street along the lines of the original stockade. The wall was dismantled by the British in 1699. And while the original name referred to the Walloons, the French speaking Belgians that helped populate this settlement in the beginning, the name was now easily taken to refer to the wall that once was here.

True search engine optimization comes directly from your willingness to sit down in front of your keyboard and pc and start the process known as writing. This writing must be done in a particular way; however, to be effective. I like to call this Spider Writing. In other words, you must write first, for the search engine spiders of Google, then you must write your content for people to find, absorb and understand what you are really all about. 1. Promote each of your products or opportunities using unique web pages. Build a well laid out, highly focused website. Give each product a clearly well documented page. Include a review of each product or opportunity and of course, testimonials from people who have already tried the product or signed up for the opportunity. This will give your customers confidence in the products or opportunities you are offering on your site and make them want to find out more. Write articles featuring the positive aspects of each or your products or opportunities and include the pages on your website. Independent, unsalaried salespeople of multi-level marketing referred to as distributors (associates, independent business owners, franchise owners, sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the parent company and are rewarded a commission relative to the volume of product sold through each of their independent businesses (organizations). Independent distributors develop their organization by either building an active customer base, who buy direct from the parent company and / or by recruiting a downline of independent distributors who also build a customer base, expanding the overall organization. Additionally, distributors can also earn a profit by retailing products which they purchased from the parent company at wholesale price.

Distributors earn a commission based on the sales efforts of their organization, which includes their independent sale efforts as well as the leveraged sales efforts of their downline. This arrangement is similar to franchise arrangements where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. Commissions are paid to multi-level marketing distributors according to the company�s compensation plan. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person's sales.

It is sometimes difficult to distinguish legal and reputable MLMs from illegal pyramid or Ponzi schemes. MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries, and new businesses may use terms like "affiliate marketing" or "home-based business franchising". However, many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses.

In the most legitimate MLM companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company's products or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone ("sign-up fees"), though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements. If participants are paid primarily from money received from new recruits, or if they are required to buy more product than they are likely to sell, then the company may be a pyramid or Ponzi scheme, which is illegal in most countries.
